CHROME EXTENSIONS

I have previously blogged about some of my favorite Google Chrome web apps and extensions.  Listed below are some great extensions you need to try.  All these extensions are found in the Google Chrome Web Store.  Click on the links provided below and the extensions will open.  Once you get the extension open, make sure you check out the tabs across the screen (Overview, Details, Reviews, Related) for more information on the extension you want to install.

GOOGLE MAIL CHECKER - I use this extension ALL the time.  This is a MUST have extension.  This extension displays the number of unread messages in your Google Mail inbox.  Simply click the button and open your inbox.

GOOGLE CALENDAR - This extension provides you with a quick look at your calendar without opening the "full" calendar. It can also recognize when a web page contains an event and it enables you to add the event to your calendar in a single click.

GOOGLE DOCS VIEWER - This extension gives you quick access to your Google Docs.  Another must have for your Google Chrome.

IE TAB - Can't get Progress Book to work well in Chrome?  Add this extension and be able to work in Internet Explorer while actually in Chrome.  No switching back and forth.

TOOMANYTABS - Have you ever had 10 tabs or more open in Chrome?  Once you get so many tabs  open you can't see the favicon of the tabs, not to mention the tab titles!  If that happens to you, then TooManyTabs is a must-have extension that manages your tabs, reduces your tab overflow and saves your sanity.  I love this extension.

GOOGLE DICTIONARY - This is a great extension.  Once installed, you simply highlight any word or words that you want the definition of and double click.  A box appears over the word and gives you the definition.  You can also click on the extension at the top of your screen and put in any word to get a definition.

GOOGLE URL SHORTENER - This extension allows you to shorten any website address/URL.  Take a long web address and make it shorter.  Great when you need to give students a long web address.

AWESOME SCREENSHOT - Capture the whole page or any portion, annotate it with rectangles, circles, arrows, lines and text, blur sensitive info, in one quick click.  The picture above was captured using this extension.

LASTPASS - Do you have too many passwords to remember?  LastPass is a free online password manager and Form Filler that makes your web browsing easier and more secure.  Never forget a password again.

HELLO FAX  - HelloFax makes it easy to sign documents and send faxes online.  You'll never need to print, sign, and scan documents again.

GOOGLE SIMILAR PAGES - Enjoying the page you are looking at and interested in other similar pages?  Are you trying to find more pages about a topic you are researching, but having a hard time coming up with the right query on Google?  Google Similar Pages can help.  Now you can quickly preview and explore other pages that are similar to the one you are browsing--on the fly.

SPLIT SCREEN - Split Screen allows you to open two web pages at one time and display them with in split screen setting.
