MSOFFICE PRODUCTS NOW EASIER TO USE IN GOOGLE DRIVE

How many times has someone sent you a Microsoft Office document and you want to open it in Google Drive and quickly become frustrated?  Well, Google is working to make it easier to work on those files using both the Chrome browser and mobile apps for Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Using this new extension, you can open, view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files without converting them or needing Office installed on your computer. You can now edit and return the files to the original format. The files can also be converted to Docs, Sheets, or Slides for collaborating with others so they can edit with you, comment, and chat.  I have found that the best way to use this extension is to drag the files into your Google Drive.  Google may need to do some work with this new extension, but it is worth exploring.

I have added this extension to my Potts' Favorite Chrome Extensions and Apps doc.  If you haven't checked out this extensive list of great Chrome extensions and apps, click the link and check it out.
