ADD  YOUR PICTURE TO GMAIL

Look, let's face it--people recognize faces much quicker than plain email addresses. If you add an image to your Gmail profile, it will automatically be shown when another Gmail user gets an email from you, looks you up in their address book, or chats with you.

Add a Picture to Your Gmail Profile

  • Click the gear in the top right Gmail navigation barSelect Mail settings
  • Make sure you're on the General tab
  • Click Select a picture under My picture
  • To use an image from your computer
      • Make sure My Computer is selected on the left
      • Use the Browse... or Choose file... button to select the desired image
If others in your contacts haven't added pictures, you can add pictures to each of your contacts very easily.

Add an Image to a Contact in Gmail

  • Go to Contacts (Contacts listed on black toolbar) or (In Mail, Go to Mail on left, drop black arrow)
  • Search for and click on the desired contact
  • Click Add a picture
  • Use My ComputerPicasa Web Album or Web Address (URL) to choose the desired image
  • Click Select Image
  • Crop the image if needed
  • Click Apply Changes
  • After Applying changes, Gmail will offer you choice to suggest this picture to the contact or keep for yourself
