CHANGES COMING TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM

I know that many of the teachers at Mid-East CTC are using Google Classroom. If you and your students are using Google Classroom you probably have wondered how you ever managed without it. As you have learned to use the interface, you have had many questions and have realized there are certain needs that Classroom doesn't meet.  Never fear.  Google has heard many of your requests and new changes are here.

New changes in Google Classroom . . .

  • Sorting - Teachers can now choose to sort students by first or last name.
  • Mark Assignments as "done" - Not all assignments require students to submit work online. Students can mark assignments as complete even if there is nothing to turn in (watch a video, do an assignment not in Google Docs, read a chapter, conducting an experiment,etc.).
  • Export All Grades - Teachers will now have the ability to download grades for all assignments at once, making it easier to export assignments to any grade book.
  • Better Teacher Controls - Teachers can now set permissions for whether or not their class can post or comment in the stream.  Teachers can also mute individual students from posting or commenting and even view previously deleted  items in the stream.
I am sure that more changes will be coming soon. Stay tuned.
